Ben Pollack
The Hounds announced Ben Pollack’s signing on November 6, 2024.
The Australian-born, US-qualified playmaker came to the Hounds via the Gordon Highlanders, based out of Sydney, Australia. A promising prospect, Pollack qualifies for domestic status through his grandfather.
Pollack’s career began at the Under-18 level when he earned selection to the New South Wales Junior Rugby squad. He followed that up with selection to the New South Wales Gen Blue squad, another local representative team.
Due to Pollack’s impressive performances at the u18 level, the versatile back was selected to play for the Australian u19 Squad, competing in the Under-19s United Rugby Championship. Pollack continued to ascend up the Australian age-grade ladder.
2021 was a turning point in Pollack’s career. He joined the Gordon Highlanders first grade team, competing in the Shute Shield, and has been one of the best performers of the last few seasons. Pollack earned his 50th cap for the club this past year.
Additionally, the Sydney native was named to the 2021 Junior Wallaby Squad, the u20 Australian national team. Pollack followed those two selections up with inclusion in the Australian 7s Development Squad.
During his youth, Pollack played for Lindfield and the Chatswood Juniors. He matriculated into St. Aloysius College before beginning his professional rugby journey.
His experience across a variety of positions, including flyhalf, wing, and fullback, should bring a wealth of experience to the Hounds’ backline for the 2025 season.
